history
A major player in the bicycle industry, Cube was founded in 1993 by Marcus Pürner, a young student at Munich University with a passion for cycling. Together with his friend Michael Prell, now in charge of design, Marcus initially set up a 30 m² bike store in the premises of his father's furniture manufacturing business in Waldershof, Bavaria (Germany). The two young entrepreneurs soon decided to go one step further, designing their own frames. From then on, Cube was launched, and the success story continued. Based on strong but simple principles - to offer models of impeccable quality that deliver both a high level of performance and maximum riding pleasure - Cube quickly won over a wide audience with a comprehensive range. The range includes dozens of models with a wide variety of frames and equipment, from mountain bikes to racing bikes, triathlons, cyclocross bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, travel bikes and city bikes, with particular expertise in electric-assist models, as well as models specifically developed for women and children.
Still based in Waldershof, just a few hundred meters from its historic premises, the company designs, tests and - a rarity in this industry - fully assembles all its bikes from A to Z in an ultra-modern 40,000 m² factory, where it also manufactures its own wheels. Some 500,000 bikes are produced here every year, sold in over 60 countries, making Cube one of the biggest brands in the sector in terms of volume.
