How to maintain your MTB cassette?

To ensure the best possible lifespan for your drivetrain, it is necessary to clean your MTB cassette regularly.

  • Tools: Drivetrain degreaser | Narrow brush

Steps

  1. Rinse the cassette with a jet of water.
  2. Apply degreaser then scrub the cassette, making sure to work well between the sprockets.
  3. Rinse with a jet of water.

Once dry, remember to lubricate your MTB drivetrain. For cassettes whose sprockets can be removed (i.e. not solid-body cassettes), it is advisable to remove the cassette from time to time, especially if you ride regularly, in order to carry out a thorough clean.
