For greater stiffness and improved durability, the chainrings are machined from a single block of aluminium. This allows for faster, more precise and smoother gear changes. Combined with the X-Range cassette, the chainrings now allow a 10-tooth sprocket start. This pairing requires fewer sprocket changes to maintain your cadence after shifting chainring. There is a 13-tooth difference between the 2 chainrings, for a more progressive gear spacing.
