The SHIMANO Di2 EW-RS910 2-port junction box is a new component of the electronic road groupsets, aimed in particular at better integrating the connectivity elements on the cockpit.
Its installation, which can be done at a bar end plug or on the down tube, requires particular attention, as it demands specific compatibility with your handlebar — to route the cables — or your frame, which must feature an opening to accommodate it. In this new configuration, it features two ports and must be connected with the Y-cable EW-JC130.
While it changes shape and design to better integrate, this junction box remains the central unit of the Di2 electronic system, its brain, which sends gear shift commands to the derailleurs. It pairs with the E-Tube Project app on your smartphone via Bluetooth.
It allows the battery to be charged and its charge level to be checked via the two integrated LEDs. Thanks to its button, it is possible to re-pair the rear derailleur after the activation of its protective function following an impact. You can also change the operating mode using the same button.
