Description
The TOPEAK SmartHead® Upgrade Kit is designed for cyclists who own an excellent pump but whose head has become obsolete, leaks, or is difficult to handle. This kit allows you to install Topeak's famous SmartHead® technology on almost any pump hose on the market.
The SmartHead® is revolutionary: it automatically adapts to Presta (thin) and Schrader (thick) valves without you having to dismantle internal parts or turn over a gasket. It also features a Pressure Release Button that allows you to adjust pressure with surgical precision without disconnecting the pump.
Can it be fitted to another brand of pump (e.g. Zéfal, Lezyne, SKS)? Yes, the kit comes with thread adapters that enable the new hose to be connected to the base of most standard foot pumps on the market.
Is it difficult to install? No, installation takes about 5 minutes. Simply unscrew the old hose from the base of your pump and screw on the new fitting supplied in the kit.
Why choose the SmartHead® over a conventional head? The time and comfort savings are enormous. No more air leaks because the gasket is badly positioned, or having to unscrew the head to change the valve. The purge button is also a "must" for pressure freaks.
Is it compatible with Dunlop valves? Yes, the SmartHead® also accepts Dunlop-type valves (common on Dutch city bikes).
